The Hall of Famer revealed he sacked his agent for rejecting a $122M offer from Minnesota without his knowledge, before signing a record $126M deal.

Kevin Garnett said he sacked his agent after the man turned down a 122-million-dollar offer from Minnesota on his behalf, without telling him.

"I was in Jamaica and I opened USA Today, and on the front page it said: 'Garnett turns down 122 million offer.' I was like: 'What the hell?' I had a plate of fruit on my knees, and I remember it tipping over. I said: 'We need to go' — and I flew straight home," Garnett said on the Knuckleheads podcast.

Garnett said his objection was to the agent making the call in his name. "The problem was I didn't turn anything down. The agent did. I told him: 'Don't speak on my behalf.' He said: 'That's how it works. That's the process.' I didn't like that, so I fired him," he explained.

Garnett went on to sign a $126 million contract with the club, at the time the largest in NBA history.
