Patrick Beverley says Steve Ballmer still owes him for a promise made in 2019, the year the guard turned down an extra $10 million over three years from Sacramento to stay with the Clippers.
"Steve Ballmer, looking me in the eye, shook my hand and said: 'We'll open 94 basketball courts in Los Angeles in your name.' And he actually started building them before COVID. Four courts got built with my Mr. 94-Feet logo on them. Then the coronavirus stopped everything. I'm still waiting on compensation for that. No joke. Especially given everything coming out about Kawhi," said Beverley.
Ballmer has been barred from running the Clippers for a year over the club's circumvention of the NBA salary cap.
