Knicks: McBride Could Be Traded Without Extension
James Edwards expects Miles McBride to leave the Knicks after the February deadline if no extension is reached before the season starts, given roster depth.
McBride is entering the final year of a three-year, $13m contract, which runs out at the end of the 2026/27 season. He averaged 12.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in 2025/26, shooting 41.3% from three.
Edwards noted the Knicks’ usual approach to unextended players, adding that the journalist said whether McBride gets the same treatment may hinge on how the front office values his role in the backcourt against the depth already on the roster.
