Steve Kerr: Warriors' Answer Will Be Roster Depth

Kerr says Golden State couldn't pull off a major roster shake-up this summer and will lean on depth until Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody return.

Steve Kerr says Golden State will rely on depth after a quiet summer, as noted last week.

"I worked as a general manager myself, and I know you cannot just say magically: 'Fine, we're going to get younger.' We tried, but circumstances matter. You need assets or cap room to do certain things. As for specific offers, that's Mike Dunleavy and Joe Lacob's job, though of course they run everything by me. And I did not see anything that would push us into a major move. So we did everything we could this summer. Our response will be depth of roster. We'll have to rely on the whole roster, including players on two-way contracts. And fortunately, I'm very happy with the guys we've ended up with. I believe they'll help us hold things together until Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody return in the second half of the season," Kerr said.

Butler is working back from ACL surgery and is targeting a return in January or February. Until then, Golden State's scoring will lean on the likes of Noah Koffi Baffoe, Everton Camargo and Mikael Severo Burkatt.

The comments follow a summer in which the Warriors locked in Curry on a two-year, $136.7m extension.
