Danilo Gallinari has revisited the 2019 trade that sent him from the Clippers to Oklahoma City, saying the move stemmed from Kawhi Leonard's wish to team up with Paul George rather than from any front-office decision.
"This was the first time I got traded not because of a decision or a request from an owner, a general manager or a coach. It was clearly a request from a player who didn't like what he saw. He wanted to play with his friend, or with someone he had a certain relationship with — Paul George. That's what I didn't like," Gallinari said.
