Cole Anthony has signed with Melbourne United for the coming season after finding no offers in the NBA. Joe Ingles, who played alongside him at Orlando, believes the move is only temporary.

Ingles said.

Anthony, a 23-year-old guard, spent four seasons with the Orlando Magic after they took him with the 15th pick in the 2020 draft. His role shrank as the Magic built up their backcourt through the draft, and he moves to Australia's NBL without an NBA contract for the first time in his career.

If Ingles is right, a strong season in Melbourne's league could put Anthony back in front of NBA teams looking for scoring off the bench — the same route several NBL imports have used before him.
