VTB Super Cup: Unics Face Zenit, CSKA Meet Igokea
Moscow's VTB Arena hosts the Super Cup opener as Unics take on Zenit before holders CSKA face Bosnian side Igokea, who replace last year's foreign guest Lokomotiv-Kuban.
Unics Kazan face Zenit at 17.00 Moscow time. CSKA follow at 20.00 against Igokea, the Bosnian side making the trip from Laktaši.
Unics play at the 7,000-seat Basket-Hall in the league season and sit second in the VTB United League table. Igokea, founded in 1973, are fourth in the ABA League and play their home fixtures at the 3,050-seat Sportska dvorana Laktaši — a considerably smaller ground than the Kazan arena awaiting them.
CSKA, the holders, opened last year's edition of the Super Cup against Lokomotiv-Kuban at the same venue, with Zenit facing Anadolu Efes on that occasion. This year the group draws have shifted: Zenit now meet Unics, while Igokea join Efes as the tournament's foreign guests.
