Beverley: Westbrook Deserved More Years in NBA
Patrick Beverley defended his former Lakers team-mate Russell Westbrook, blaming media narratives for shortening his NBA career and pushing teams away from signing him.
Patrick Beverley said on March 15, 2024, that Russell Westbrook should still be in the NBA, three or four more seasons of it, and has put the blame on how the media turned public opinion against his former Lakers team-mate.
"I don't like how they treated him. I don't like how the media handled him. Because of them, fans started seeing him completely differently. And that made presidents and general managers change their opinion of him," Beverley said.
"Russ is one of the best team-mates I've ever had. That's a joke. This guy should have played at least three or four more years in the league. He’s a pure point guard, built like a younger LeBron," Beverley said.
