Sergey Kushchenko, president of the VTB United League, praised Anadolu Efes for the way the Turkish side has approached the Super Cup in Moscow, after Efes became the first foreign club to reach the final of the tournament.
"Efes, probably, is the first foreign team to come to our Super Cup and treat the tournament this seriously. Think of the other foreign sides – Fenerbahce, Crvena Zvezda, Partizan. They still saw the Super Cup more as preparation for the season. Efes stands out for its attitude, the quality of basketball and the effort shown on the court. Over two days we saw them play excellent basketball. I hope tomorrow's final becomes another fine highlight of the tournament. At the same time, Kazan looked very solid for three quarters and gave their opponents a fight. The main difference, I think, is that Efes' roster is genuinely impressive. So much so that the team effectively has two, maybe even three full lineups. Today Lloyd stayed on the bench, Dozier didn't take the court. Papanikolaou and Cordinier didn't even travel from Istanbul.
