The Clippers have named Los Angeles attorney John Gibson interim governor and chief executive for the period of Steve Ballmer's suspension, ESPN insider Shams Charania reported.
Ballmer put Gibson's name forward, and the NBA approved it. Gibson was the Clippers' lead counsel in the litigation over Donald Sterling's sale of the club to Ballmer.
The league suspended Ballmer for one year after investigating the Clippers for breaches of the salary cap rules.
