Atlanta trades Buddy Hield and Ryan Nembhard to Charlotte for Dorian Finney-Smith, who returns to the market after just one off-season with the Hornets.
Atlanta have agreed a trade sending Buddy Hield and Ryan Nembhard to Charlotte in exchange for Dorian Finney-Smith.
The Hornets picked up Finney-Smith from Houston this summer as part of a deal that also brought three future second-round picks. He will now move on after a single off-season in Charlotte.
Finney-Smith is owed $14.1 million for the 2026/27 campaign, with his salary for the following two seasons non-guaranteed. Last term with the Rockets he made 37 appearances, averaging 3.3 points and 2.5 rebounds in 16.8 minutes, shooting 27% from three.
Hield's side of the deal is worth $9.7 million for 2026/27, also non-guaranteed beyond this season. He split last season between Atlanta and Golden State, playing 51 matches and putting up 7.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 16.1 minutes, with 34.9% shooting from long range.
