Rytas beat RSSB Tigers 107:89 in Singapore, and Boca Juniors saw off Beijing Royal Fighters 88:78, as the FIBA Intercontinental Cup group stage opened on 22 September.

In Group A, the Lithuanian side led at every break against the Rwandan club: 21:19, 26:20 and 31:20 before easing off to close the final quarter 29:30. Rytas sit 1-0, alongside Shanghai Sharks on 0-0, with RSSB Tigers on 0-1. The Tigers, founded in 2019 and playing out of the 10,000-seat BK Arena, arrived top of the BAL standings, unbeaten after five matches.

Boca Juniors took the second-quarter runaway, 27:13, to put Group B beyond doubt against Beijing Royal Fighters, an 88:78 win. Boca lead the group on 1-0, ahead of the G League Select Team on 0-0, with Beijing Royal Fighters on 0-1. The Chinese club, founded in 2009 and based at the 6,500-seat Beijing Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, sit 13th in the CBA after 42 matches.

The tournament is being played in Singapore, which currently sits third at the Southeast Asian Games after three matches.
