Elijah Bryant, a guard for Hapoel Tel Aviv, says the players who struggle most in the EuroLeague are those who arrive thinking of themselves as NBA players.
"Players who come to Europe thinking: 'I'll score points, I'm an NBA player, I need to get back there', usually have a hard time," Bryant said. "Recently the quickest to adapt have been Kendrick Nunn and Talen Horton-Tucker. Nunn's adaptation to European basketball was the best I have seen in my career. He played well, got a new contract and won the EuroLeague. Second on that measure was Talen Horton-Tucker. It took him a few games to understand European basketball. He has an excellent coach who helps him adapt, but from a psychological point of view it is not easy. Sometimes players fall into depression when they go abroad to play."
Bryant played 12 games in the NBA for Milwaukee in 2020/21.
