Lonzo Ball has denied that his NBA career is over. The 28-year-old guard, a free agent, wrote on X that he is still waiting for an offer.
"Retired? First I've heard of it, because I'm still waiting for the call. The NBA season is long," Ball wrote.
His earlier remarks about his future had been widely read as a hint that he was stepping away.
Ball began last season with Cleveland. In February he was traded to Utah as part of a three-team deal, and was waived soon afterwards.
The season is long, as he says, and a free agent's phone can ring at any point in it. If a club does call, it would end a spell in which Ball has played for no one since the Utah release.
