Shane Larkin on Fenerbahce move: never expected to join Efes rival
Point guard Shane Larkin left Anadolu Efes after eight seasons for Fenerbahce and says he never expected it. He returns to his old arena in the EuroLeague on 7 January.
Shane Larkin has left Anadolu Efes after eight seasons for Fenerbahce, and says he never expected to end up at the club's main rival.
"I'm obviously very happy about this opportunity. But when you've been with one team for so long, and signed a long-term contract a few years ago, you expect to stay there for a long time. But all sorts of things happen in a career. I have a lot of respect for the people at that club and always will," the point guard said.
Larkin, an American, is looking forward to going back to his old home arena and facing the Efes supporters. "I don't know exactly how they will receive me, but from my side there will only ever be love," he said.
