Roman Sorkin agrees new four-year deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv
Maccabi Tel Aviv have tied down centre Roman Sorkin on a four-year contract worth about $6m, up from the $900,000 a year he earned under his previous deal.
Maccabi Tel Aviv have agreed a new four-year contract with centre Roman Sorkin, Ynet reports.
The deal is worth about $6m, or $1.5m a season. Sorkin was earning around $900,000 a year under his old contract, which still had three years to run.
The 30-year-old is starting his eighth season with Maccabi. Last season's EuroLeague was the best of his career: he averaged 13.5 points and 4.2 rebounds, shooting 51.6% from the field and 34.1% from three.
If the figures are accurate, the club has tied down a player at his peak output through to his mid-30s and paid him well above his previous rate for it.
