Austin Ainge: Peterson is remarkably mature for his age
Jazz president Austin Ainge praised rookie Derrin Peterson's work ethic and focus, saying the No. 2 pick arrived already prepared beyond his years.
Austin Ainge has praised Derrin Peterson's start to life at the Utah Jazz, saying the teenager arrived already carrying habits most rookies still need to learn.
"He's very mature for his age. He works really hard. Derrin came in already well prepared in a lot of areas, especially for his age. He already had the work ethic, the intensity and the focus — we didn't have to teach him that. For a young player, that's genuinely rare," Ainge said.
The Jazz took Peterson with the second overall pick in this year's NBA draft. He turned 19 shortly before the selection.
