Ishbia: NBA Reworking 2027 All-Star Weekend in Phoenix
Suns owner Matt Ishbia says the NBA is changing the 2027 All-Star Weekend format to draw more top stars into the three-point and dunk contests.
Matt Ishbia says the NBA is working on changes to the 2027 All-Star Weekend, set to be held at the Suns' home arena in Phoenix, with the aim of drawing more star players into the three-point and dunk contests.
"I work closely with Adam Silver and the NBA. It won't be like it was in previous years. Devin Booker will of course take part in the three-point contest, but how do we get other superstars involved? How do we make sure the dunk contest doesn't look the way it has the last couple of years, and keeps getting better? There are a few more ideas and changes. So watch this space," said Ishbia.
All-Star Weekend has drawn criticism in recent years, both over players' lack of effort in the All-Star Game itself and over the contests' failure to attract the league's biggest names.
