Mario Hezonja Embraces Cleveland's Cloudy Weather
Back in the NBA after six years, Hezonja signed a one-year deal with Cleveland and says he's thrilled to finally escape the sun's heat.
Mario Hezonja has settled into Cleveland, and the weather is part of it.
The Croatian forward returned to the NBA this summer after six years away, signing a one-year, $2.8 million deal with the Cavaliers. Asked about his early impressions of the city, he brought up something the club had not planned for: the clouds.
"I can't stand the sun, I don't like the heat. I can't take it any more. I've been all over the world. I lived in Spain twice, played in Orlando, lived in Croatia — the sun was everywhere. I've had enough of it. So clouds, rain, snow — thank you, Cleveland," Hezonja said, smiling.
Before this stint, his last NBA appearances came six years ago. The 2.8 million dollar deal gives him a low-risk route back into the league with a Cavaliers side building around a young core.
