About the player

Andi Sullivan grew up playing in the Washington D.C. area with Bethesda Soccer Club, McLean Youth Soccer and Lee Mount Vernon Sports Club before attending South County High School in Lorton, Virginia, where she was named NSCAA National Youth Player of the Year in 2013. She went on to Stanford, where over four seasons she made 87 appearances and scored 20 goals, was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 2014 and Pac-12 Player of the Year in 2016, and scored in the final as Stanford won the 2017 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship. That year she also received the Hermann Trophy as the best female college player in the country.

While at Stanford, Sullivan also turned out for the Washington Spirit Reserves in the USL W-League. The Spirit picked her first overall in the 2018 NWSL College Draft, and she has stayed at the club through her senior career since, signing contract extensions in 2020, 2021 and 2023, the last of which included a team option for 2026. She was a finalist for NWSL Rookie of the Year in 2018 and was named to the NWSL Team of the Month in July 2021, the year the Spirit won the NWSL Championship. She now captains the side.

Sullivan made her debut for the United States women's national team on 19 October 2016 against Switzerland and has since earned 52 caps and scored 3 goals. She has played in multiple editions of the SheBelieves Cup and featured in all four of the USWNT's matches at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, having previously been a final cut from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics squad and a training player for the 2024 Paris Olympics roster. In the 2024 NWSL season, as the Spirit reached the championship match before losing to the Orlando Pride, Sullivan suffered a torn ACL.
