About the player
Over five years at Clemson University she made 99 appearances, scored 16 goals and set up 12 more, finishing as the programme's record holder for starts with 97. That body of work earned her First-team All-ACC honours in 2023, after Second-team selections in 2021 and 2022, and a stint with Indy Eleven in the USL W League produced a championship in 2023.
Washington Spirit took her with the 5th overall pick in the 2024 NWSL Draft. In her rookie season she led all first-year players with more than 2,000 minutes on the pitch and was named to the NWSL Best XI Second Team.
Hershfelt made her senior debut for the United States on 24 October 2024, coming on as a substitute in the 72nd minute of a 3-1 friendly win over Iceland, and has since earned five caps. She had already been named an alternate for the US squad at the Paris Olympics that summer, though she did not take the field during the tournament.
