Gabrielle Carle

Gabrielle Carle took up football at the age of five with AS Chaudière-Est, working her way through Dynamo de Québec and CS Lévis-Est. There, between 2017 and 2021, she made 100 appearances for the Seminoles, scoring eight goals and setting up 14 more, and won two NCAA Division I national championships along with three ACC titles. Her college form earned her the NCAA Elite 90 Award in 2018 and the Senior CLASS Award in 2021, and she was named to the All-ACC Second Team.

Her senior international debut came at the 2015 Pan American Games, and her first goal for Canada arrived in a 10–0 rout of Guatemala during Olympic qualifying. She has featured at the 2019 and 2023 World Cups and helped Canada to second place at the 2018 CONCACAF Women's Championship. At the Tokyo Olympics, played in 2021, Carle featured in the group stage against Great Britain as Canada went on to win gold — a tournament run that, according to Équipe Canada, left her holding the record for the most Olympic medals won by a Canadian athlete.

Carle signed for Washington Spirit in December 2022. She has since made 82 league appearances for the club, and her contract was extended through the 2029 season. She was also named to Canada's roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics and the CONCACAF W Gold Cup that year, where the team reached the semi-finals.
