About the player
Érick Gutiérrez left home young, joining Pachuca's academy in 2009 and working through to a first-team debut in October 2013. The move paid off quickly: he won the Clausura 2016 league title and two CONCACAF Champions League crowns with the club, along with the CONCACAF U-20 Championship at youth level.
In August 2018 he joined PSV Eindhoven for a fee that could rise to around €8 million with add-ons, a deal that also carried a resale clause back to Pachuca. He returned home in July 2023, signing for Chivas de Guadalajara, before a one-year loan took him to Toluca in June 2026.
On the international stage, Gutiérrez has become a fixture for Mexico, with 36 caps and a goal in a 3–0 friendly win over the United States in September 2019.
