Fausto Vera

Fausto Vera joined River Plate on a one-year loan from Atlético Mineiro, agreed for a fee of $500,000 with an option to buy set at $4 million, and has made 16 league appearances for the club so far. The move brought the midfielder back to Argentine football, following spells in Brazil with Corinthians and Atlético Mineiro.

Vera came through the youth ranks at Argentinos Juniors, making his senior debut there in November 2018 and going on to make 61 league appearances and score eight goals for the club before his transfer to Corinthians in July 2022 for around €6 million. At Corinthians he made 64 league appearances, and it was in Corinthians colours that he scored one of the more notable goals of his career, netting against his old club Argentinos Juniors in the 2024 Copa Sudamericana. He later moved to Atlético Mineiro in July 2024 for roughly €4.5 million, where he made 39 league appearances, scored three goals and won the Campeonato Mineiro in 2025.

At international level, Vera has represented Argentina at youth and age-group level rather than with the senior side. He was part of the squad that won gold at the 2019 Pan American Games with the under-23 team, and also featured at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
