About the player
Julián Alfaro was Universidad de Chile's top scorer across every youth category. He arrived at Deportes Magallanes on loan in 2019 and made 48 league appearances with six goals before signing permanently in January 2022. As captain, he led the side to the 2022 Primera B title, ending a 36-year absence from Chile's top flight, and went on to lift the 2022 Copa Chile and the 2023 Supercopa de Chile. He had already been the division's top scorer in the 2020 Primera B season, with 15 goals.
Universidad de Chile brought him back in December 2024 as their first signing for the 2025 season. Playing time did not follow, though, and in July 2025 he moved on loan to Everton de Viña del Mar.
At international level, Alfaro has represented Chile at U-20 and U-23 level, and was part of the squad that won silver at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, scoring against the Dominican Republic during the tournament. He has not yet been capped by the senior national side.
