Luciano Nequecaur

Buenos Aires gave Luciano Nequecaur his start, in the Lanús academy, before he broke into senior football at All Boys in 2013. Since then the centre-forward has barely stayed in one place: Olimpo, a spell at Stranraer in Scotland, then back to Argentina with Nueva Chicago, where he scored six goals in the Primera B Nacional.

Mexico is where his scoring record took off. At Venados FC he found 13 goals in the Liga de Ascenso across the 2017–2018 season, then added 11 more at Alebrijes de Oaxaca. A move to Portugal's Marítimo followed, another free transfer, before he crossed to Uruguay to play for Danubio and then Fénix, totalling ten goals between the two. Chilean side Huachipato picked him up on a free in September 2021, and he repaid that with nine goals in the 2021–2022 campaign. A second stint at Venados FC came in January 2023.

Nequecaur joined Sport Boys as a free agent in January 2025. He scored nine goals in 22 matches that year and added six more in 2026, finishing as the club's top foreign scorer in 2025. Across his career he has passed 80 goals in total, built almost entirely on free transfers between clubs in Argentina, Scotland, Mexico, Portugal, Uruguay, Chile and now Peru.

He has not collected individual awards or league titles along the way. There is also a discrepancy over his nationality: some sources list him as an Argentine-born Uruguayan with naturalised citizenship, though Argentine outlets and major databases continue to record him simply as Argentine.
