Lovro Zvonarek

Croatia's 2027 European Under-21 qualification squad includes a midfielder who once rewrote his country's record books: on 22 May 2021, aged sixteen years and fourteen days, Lovro Zvonarek became the youngest goalscorer in Prva HNL history.

Zvonarek stayed on loan at Slaven Belupo through the rest of that season, then moved into Bayern's structure, scoring 12 goals in 39 games for the reserve side. He was named in The Guardian's Next Generation list in 2022. He went out on loan again, first to Sturm Graz, where he made 22 appearances during the 2024-25 season and won the Austrian Bundesliga, then to Grasshopper Zürich, where he made 31 appearances and scored three goals.

He has moved steadily through Croatia's youth ranks, from the under-15s up to the under-21s. At under-21 level he has earned 18 caps and two goals, and he remains involved with that group as it works through qualification for the next European Championship.
