About the player
Talia Staude grew up playing for Tophat SC in Atlanta before spending five years, from 2019 to 2023, with the Virginia Cavaliers at the University of Virginia. Her path through the American youth system produced two continental titles: she won the CONCACAF U-15 Championship in 2016 and the CONCACAF U-17 Championship in 2018, and went on to represent the United States at levels from U-14 through U-23.
North Carolina Courage selected Staude in the 2024 NWSL Draft. Rather than an immediate first-team run, her first professional season came away from Cary: the Courage loaned her to Tampa Bay Sun FC of the USL Super League for 2024. She featured for Tampa Bay through the campaign, including a September 2024 match against Lexington SC, before the loan ended in January 2025 and she returned to North Carolina.
Staude wears number 12 for the Courage, whose season away from home came before she had played a competitive minute for the club that drafted her.
