Cingoli

The club grew out of a project by local teachers, among them Luigino Quaresima and Quinto Olivieri, who wanted sport to do the work of educating the town's youth. Cingoli joined the national handball and volleyball federations two years later, and the handball section, men's and women's, has carried the club's name since. Its ground, the PalaQuaresima, bears Quaresima's name.

The men's team, playing now as Macagi Cingoli under sponsorship, has moved between the second and top tiers more than once. The last of those, in 2023, put them back into Serie A Gold, and Sergio Palazzi was the coach who took them there. The women's side reached the top division earlier, in 1994, and got as far as the Coppa Italia final the following year.

Youth football added its own list: Under-16 and Under-18 Scudetti through the 1990s and into 2000. For twenty years, from 1984 to 2004, Cingoli also ran the Balcone delle Marche, an international tournament.
