Colombe

Colombe's came after a run that few clubs recover from. The 2024/2025 MTN Elite One crown, sealed with a 3-0 win over Victoria United, was the club's first ever, and Sangmélima held onto it the following season. The Cameroon Cup arrived first, in 2024, when Duamel Ekotto's goal beat Aigle Royal de la Menoua 1-0 and opened the door to continental football; the Super Cup followed the same year against Victoria United, though a separate leg against Panthère du Ndé was abandoned amid controversy.

None of it looked likely for a long stretch. Colombe played in the first Cameroonian Division 1 championship back in 1961, had a spell in the top flight from 1986 to 1993, then dropped into the lower divisions and stayed there for 23 years before promotion returned them to the Elite One in 2017. President Dr. Doko Edjiane and coach Richard Towa are credited with turning that promotion into a title-winning side, even as the club has had to manage disputes with the Cameroonian Football Federation over unpaid debts and player suspensions.

The team still plays in Sangmélima, at the Stade Municipal, though the administration shifted to Yaoundé in 2020. Down south, the rivalry that matters most is with Epervier Sportif Ebolowa.

Idriss Nfor kept goal through both cup finals in 2024 and is remembered there as much as anyone for the run. Léandre Tawamba, a veteran of the Cameroon national team, joined in August 2025.
