The 1992 Campeonato Gaúcho da 2ª Divisão did not come easy, but it gave Brasil de Farroupilha its highest state honour.

The club carries the formal name Sociedade Esportiva Recreativa e Cultural Brasil de Farroupilha, set up in the city of Farroupilha on 15 January 1939 — a detail worth stating plainly because two other Rio Grande do Sul clubs share part of the same name, Grêmio Atlético Farroupilha in Pelotas and Grêmio Esportivo Farroupilha in Butiá. Locally it goes by Brasil-Far, and its green, yellow and red draw directly on the state flag of Rio Grande do Sul.
