Keila lies inland from Estonia's northern coast, close enough to Tallinn. The club traces back to 2022, and in May 2024, Keila Basket went its own way.

The first Keila derby was played on October 4, 2024, and Keila Coolbet beat Keila KK 85:76.

Peep Pahv has run the club from the board as well as the bench, and his son Margus captains the side he coaches.

Keila Coolbet now competes across three tiers at once — the Korvpalli Meistriliiga, the Estonian-Latvian Basketball League and the European North Basketball League. No title has followed yet.

The club's ground, the Keila Health Center, holds 800.
