Minnesota Timberwolves

The Target Center sits in downtown Minneapolis and holds close to 19,000 for basketball. The arena opened in 1990, a year after the franchise itself.

Kevin Garnett arrived in 1995. He stayed through 2007, left, and came back for a final stretch in 2014, and by the time he was done he held the franchise records for points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. His MVP season, 2003–04, is also the only year the club has topped its division, and it carried the Timberwolves to their first trip to the Western Conference Finals, where the Los Angeles Lakers ended the run.

Two decades passed before it happened again. Anthony Edwards, the current face of the team, and Rudy Gobert, whose defensive reputation followed him from Utah, pushed Minnesota back to the conference finals in 2024, then again in 2025 — losses to the Dallas Mavericks and the Oklahoma City Thunder respectively.

The Timberwolves have made the playoffs fourteen times and won four series total.
