Nouadhibou

The orange shirt gave the club one of its names, "Le Club Orange"; the other, "Al Zaaem", The Boss, came later, once results made it fit.

Nouadhibou has not lost a Mauritanian league title since 2018. The run stretches from that season through 2025–26, seven championships in a row on top of earlier titles won in 2001, 2002, 2011, 2013 and 2014, fourteen in total, a tally no other Mauritanian club approaches. The President's Cup has come their way four times, most recently in 2024, and there is a Super Cup collection to go with it. Continental football has followed the domestic dominance: in 2019–20 they became the first Mauritanian side to reach the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup, and in 2023–24 they did the same in the CAF Champions League, finishing third in a group behind TP Mazembe, Pyramids and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Across the city, ASC SNIM waits for them in the Derby du Nord, the fixture that matters most to people in Nouadhibou regardless of where the league table stands. The club opened a academy, the Centre de Formation Nouadhibou FC, in December 2023, a step toward producing rather than only assembling squads.

Moulaye Boughourbal Abdel Aziz has run the club since 2014, presiding over the years when the titles stopped being occasional and started being expected.
