Paduano went silent between 1993 and 2007, and again briefly in 2008, before returning to the state's lower divisions.

The club took its name and colours from the town's patron saint, Saint Anthony of Padua, and its supporters know it as Trovão Azul, the Blue Thunder. Among the players who passed through, Píndaro stands out: a defender who left Santo Antônio de Pádua for Fluminense, where he formed part of the side's "Holy Trinity" alongside Castilho and Pinheiro.

Titles have come in the divisions where Paduano actually competes. The club won the Campeonato Carioca Third Division in 1987 and again in 2012, then in 2021 took both the Fourth and Fifth Divisions in the same season.
