The scoreline from Guasave in 2026 tells most of the story on its own: a few months earlier, in the quarterfinals of the Basketball Champions League Americas, Astros de Jalisco had put 131 points on Caimanes del Llano, winning by 62 — the largest margin in the competition's history — before Flamengo ended the run. That single result, a group stage gone 6-0 followed by an early exit, sums up where the club stands: dominant at home, still finding its level abroad.

At home there is little argument. Since the state government of Jalisco and Grupo Multimedios put the project together in February 2019, the club has gone from a first LNBP campaign to four CIBACOPA titles — 2022, 2023, 2025 and 2026. The 2025 title took seven games against Zonkeys de Tijuana; the 2026 one needed five against Frayles de Guasave. The recurring final, though, has been against Rayos de Hermosillo, met in the finals of 2022 and 2023.

Not every final has gone their way. In the LNBP proper, Astros lost finals in 2021, 2022 and 2023, the last two of them 0-4 and 1-4, before the Copa LNBP of 2022 gave the club its first real piece of silverware outside CIBACOPA. The women's side has its own opening chapter to point to: champions of the inaugural LNBPF season, also in 2022.
