Montana 2003 had the better of the regular season, and Rilski Sportist had never lifted a national title in the women's game. In the final series of 2023–24, none of that held, and Samokov's team took the championship for the first time.

The club itself carries a wider name in Samokov than basketball alone, since Rilski Sportist has run as a multi-sport organisation since 1927, and the women's section sits inside that structure rather than as a club of its own.

Home games are played at Arena Samokov, opened in March 2008 with room for 2,000. Blue and white are the club's colours on both the men's and women's sides.

Beyond 2024, the women's side had one earlier domestic title, from 2011, before more than a decade passed without another.
