Podgorica has about 6,000 seats in the Morača Sports Center. Budućnost, nicknamed the Vučice, the Wolf Girls, or simply Plave, the Blues, is the basketball side of a multisport society formed in 1949. The women joined the Yugoslav First Federal League in 1982.

Before Montenegrin independence the club won the League of FR Yugoslavia twice, in 2002 and 2003. Since independence it has taken the Montenegrin First A League 14 times, including every season from 2012 to 2019, and the Montenegrin Cup 15 times.

The regional WABA League is a harder test. The 2020 title was awarded after the pandemic cancelled the season. Vladan Radović was the coach for that one and for much of the domestic run. Petar Stojanović took over in July 2024, and in 2024–25 the team beat Cinkarna Celje again, 71:64.

From 2013 to 2015 the club played as ŽKK Budućnost Volcano.
