What holds the place together instead is the hall: nine hundred seats at the Sporthalle Eichli.

The club spent one season among Switzerland's elite, in 1990/91, finishing tenth in the main round before securing its Nationalliga A status with third place in the relegation group. It never went back. That single campaign remains the high point of a history otherwise built in the second tier.

Relegation to the 1. Liga arrived in 2014, and the return took three years: promotion back to the Nationalliga B came in 2017 under player-coach Thomas Mohenski. Since then Stans has settled into the upper half of the table, with two third-place finishes, without finding the extra step back to the top flight.

None of it has produced a national title or a cup run worth recording. What has held since 1962 is the club itself, still playing under the same red and blue in the town that founded it.
