Stiinta Bucharest Women

A group of students put the club back together in 2010, and they started life again at the bottom, in Divizia A. That first version had come into being in 1949 as an 11-a-side handball team, and it carried the name Știința through both eras. The students built their revival under the University of Bucharest.

In 1961 Știința won the first Women's Handball European Champions Cup ever contested, beating Dynamo Prague home and away for an aggregate of 13–5. At home, the club took the national title in seven-a-side in 1960, 1965 and 1971, and in the old eleven-a-side format in 1960 and 1963 — a run that never once extended to the Romanian Cup, a competition that only began in 1977–78.

Jasna Boljević carried that shirt more recently than most, finishing as the Liga Națională's top scorer in the 2021–22 season, though the club she scored for has since dropped back to Divizia A following relegation at the end of 2023–24. Home games are shared between Sala Agronomia and Sala Elite, and derby weekends still mean Rapid București across the city, a fixture Bucharest handball has kept alive since the days of the eleven-a-side championship.
