Eulachhalle
Winterthur, Switzerland
The Eulachhalle sits on Wartstrasse in Winterthur . Built in 1971 , the primary hall features a synthetic PU surface, designed for the sharp turns of handball, but it has also held the weight of thousands of fans watching a different kind of performance.
For the local teams, Pfadi Winterthur and Yellow Winterthur , the arena is home. The standard seating for such matches is 2,300 . Yet, when the configuration changes, the space expands to hold up to 3,200 people. The city of Winterthur owns the facility, and it has remained the Eulachhalle since it opened, never adopting a new name.
In 1997 and 2007 , the UCI Indoor Cycling World Championships took place here. The latter event drew a crowd of 3,280 , a figure that still stands as a record for the venue. The EuroFloorball Cup finals were held in 2008 . These sporting events are woven into the fabric of the hall, but so are the concerts.
