Hakeen II and Djurgården played out a 2-2 draw in the Elitettan on Saturday, an outcome that leaves both sides searching for consistency in a difficult campaign. The hosts took the lead through H. Ryd in the 38th minute, but Djurgården responded with a flurry of goals to take control before Hakeen II found a late equaliser.
Ryd's goal came from a well-worked move, and it looked as though the home side might carry that momentum forward. To be fair, Djurgården had to adjust their approach, and they did so quickly. O. Alcaide pulled one back in the 56th minute, then struck again three minutes later to put the visitors ahead for the first time.
By then the match had shifted into a different rhythm. B. Hultback added a fourth goal in the 70th minute, and it appeared Hakeen II had nothing left to offer. And here's the thing though — the hosts refused to go away, and they found a way back into the contest in the closing stages.
Three substitutions came in quick succession as both managers tried to manage the final minutes. N. Kjellman and S. Berhe were brought on for Hakeen II in the 70th and 75th minutes, while M. Sipilainen replaced someone in the 82nd. The yellow cards at 49, 74 and 90+2 minutes told their own story of frustration.
Hakeen II remain 14th in the table with eight points from 20 games, their record of two wins and two draws offering little respite. Djurgården sit eighth with 24 points, six wins and six draws giving them a healthier position. Both sides had lost their previous two matches before this draw, so the points at least stopped negative runs.
