Hearn: Fury vs Joshua press conference not confirmed
AJ's promoter Eddie Hearn says no press event is set for next week and insists Matchroom must be involved as the December 11 Cardiff bout hangs in doubt.
"At the moment nothing confirmed for next week press conference wise," Hearn told Sky Sports. Joshua's promoter also made clear Matchroom's presence is not optional if any event does go ahead: "With regards to are we expecting to be there, there wouldn't be one without us."
The bout had finally been set for the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, ending a rivalry that has run for more than a decade. The announcement named Turki Alalshikh's The Ring and Dana White as the promoters staging it, a billing Hearn has publicly disputed, saying the American cannot be involved.
Speaking after Johnny Fisher's win over Michael Pirotton on Saturday night, White said he was uncertain over the fight's status. Fury himself has put the chance of the fight happening at 1%.
With Hearn's promotional dispute still unresolved, the head-to-head that was meant to launch the promotion may not happen before the fight itself is settled one way or the other.
