Alexander Díaz

Alexander Díaz took the long way to a regular first-team shirt. He began at Once Tigres, making his debut for the club's senior side at just 14 in the Liga Nuevejuliense, before moving into the San Lorenzo youth ranks. He made his professional debut for San Lorenzo on 7 September 2018, against Colón in the Copa Argentina, and stayed under contract with the club until 2024 — though much of that spell was spent away on loan gathering minutes rather than establishing himself in Buenos Aires.

Those loans took him to Arsenal de Sarandí and Ferro Carril Oeste before a move to Brazil, where he joined Regatas Brasil in 2024 under a deal that included an option for the Brazilian club to buy half his rights. That agreement did not run its course: Díaz rescinded the contract with Regatas Brasil in the middle of the year, joining Deportivo Riestra initially on loan. Riestra made the move permanent in 2025, buying half of his registration rights from San Lorenzo.

At Riestra, the left-footed forward has turned into one of the side's regular attacking threats. He scored in the Torneo Clausura against Boca Juniors and again in the Copa Sudamericana against Montevideo City Torque, goals that have stood out in a career so far built more on graft than trophies. Across his time at the club, spanning the loan spell and his permanent stay, he has made numerous appearances and scored multiple goals. He has yet to feature for the Argentina national team at any level.
