Armin Gigović

Armin Gigović was born in Lund, Sweden, and came through the youth ranks at Landskrona BoIS before joining Helsingborgs IF, where he made his professional debut in July 2019. FC Rostov signed him in October 2020 for a fee reported between €2.5 million and €3.0 million, and he went on to make around 30 appearances for the club, scoring against Rotor Volgograd in the 2020/21 season. He suspended his contract in March 2022 following Russia's invasion of Ukraine and returned to Helsingborgs on loan.

A loan to Odense Boldklub followed in August 2022, and from January 2023 he moved to FC Midtjylland, where he made 42 league appearances in the 2023/24 season as the club won the Danish Superliga title. That form led to a permanent move to Holstein Kiel in July 2024. In his first Bundesliga season he made 31 league appearances and scored five goals, against VfB Stuttgart, Borussia Mönchengladbach twice, SC Freiburg and Union Berlin, though Kiel finished 17th and were relegated. In August 2025 he transferred to BSC Young Boys for a fee reported between €1.5 million and €2.2 million, signing through 2029.

Gigović represented Sweden at U17, U19 and U21 level and won two senior caps for the country in 2023 and 2024. In May 2024, FIFA approved his request to switch his sporting nationality to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and he made his senior debut for his new national side on 3 June 2024 in a friendly against England. He scored his first international goal on 21 March 2025, in a 1–0 World Cup 2026 qualifying win over Romania, and has since earned 22 caps.
