About the player
Ensenada, Baja California, gave Croatian football its first Mexican player, and Armando León Reséndez made his league debut for NK Osijek by scoring twice against Rudeš, then added two open-play goals against Dinamo Zagreb, the first Osijek player to manage that feat since 2014. By September he had five goals in seven appearances in the Croatian First Football League.
León's path to Osijek ran through Mexican football's academy system and lower divisions before it reached Europe. He made his professional debut in the Clausura 2020 and won the Liga MX Guardianes title that year, adding the Leagues Cup with León in 2021. A loan spell took him to Alebrijes de Oaxaca, where he also featured for the club's reserve side.
He joined FC Rànger's in Andorra on a permanent transfer. He scored 29 goals in 46 league appearances over two seasons there and finished as top scorer of the Andorran Primera Divisió. A loan to FC Santa Coloma followed in 2025, where he scored against Borac Banja Luka in Conference League qualifying.
