Alvyn Antonio Sanches

Alvyn Antonio Sanches was named Swiss Super League Player of the Year for the 2023–24 season while still at Lausanne-Sport, the club where he had come through the academy after starting out at Lausanne Benfica. He made his senior breakthrough there in May 2021 and went on to make 107 league appearances, scoring 25 goals across five seasons — a record that also brought a nomination for the Credit Suisse Youngster Male award.

In September 2025, Sanches moved to BSC Young Boys for a fee of around SFr 5 million, a record transfer for the club at the time, and signed a contract running to 2029. In his first season with Young Boys he scored 10 goals and added six assists in 28 league appearances, though the club finished sixth as FC Thun took the title.

His international career has been shadowed by injury. Sanches made his senior debut for Switzerland in a friendly against Northern Ireland in March 2025, a match that finished 1-1, but suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear in stoppage time. He has since been capped three times at senior level. He had nine caps and three goals for the under-21s and two goals in two appearances for the under-20 side.

Born in Créteil, Sanches holds both Swiss and Portuguese citizenship and represents Switzerland internationally.
