About the player
Artem Sokolov was born in Yakutsk and made his way south through Chertanovo Moscow's academy. He made his senior debut there in 2019 and was named Best Player of the Youth Football League that year, before the club took bronze in the First League in the 2019/20 season.
From Chertanovo he moved to Khimki in 2021, then joined Krylia Sovetov in 2022. He had spells at Pari Nizhny Novgorod, Krylia Sovetov-2, Torpedo Moscow and Chelyabinsk, none lasting more than a season. He arrived at Chayka Peschanokopskoye on a free transfer and made 28 appearances and scored 10 goals across a single campaign. That form earned him a free transfer to Nizhny Novgorod on a contract running to 2029.
At youth level, Sokolov has been a fixture of Russia's age-group sides, capped from under-15 through to under-21, including three goals during under-17 European qualifying. He has not yet been called into the senior national team. In 2025 he was awarded the title of Master of Sports of Russia.
He plays as an attacking midfielder or winger.
