Akin Alkan

Akın Alkan went up two divisions in successive seasons with Hatayspor. The goalkeeper joined the club in July 2016, and Hatayspor won the TFF 2. Lig in 2016–17. They then won the TFF 1. Lig in 2017–18, which took them into the Süper Lig.

The second of those seasons is the one that stands out for Alkan personally. He played 24 matches and conceded 11 goals. He stayed at Hatayspor for five years in all.

He came to it by a long route through Istanbul's lower leagues. His youth career began at Reşitpaşa, continued at Okmeydanı Fetih, and ended at Dikilitaş, where he made his first senior appearances. Three years at Beylerbeyi followed from 2009. He then went east to Batman Petrolspor for two seasons, before returning to Istanbul to join Fatih Karagümrük, where he stayed until Hatayspor signed him.

Alkan has not been capped by Turkey at senior or youth level. In 2013, however, he was picked for the Turkey University National Team for the World University Games.

After Hatayspor his career continued on free transfers. In 2021 he moved to MKE Ankaragücü, where he played for a year. He then spent a season at Esenler Erokspor before signing for Bandırmaspor in 2023.
