About the player
Antonio Leal Mateos came through Cádiz CF's youth ranks before Villarreal took him on in 2017, folding him into the club's C team the following year. He made his senior debut there in September 2018 and went on to make 54 appearances for Villarreal C over three seasons.
What followed was a tour of Spain's lower divisions. A loan to Recreativo de Huelva for the 2020–21 campaign was followed by a free transfer to Atlético Levante, then a year at Unionistas de Salamanca and a one-year deal at Ponferradina.
In July 2024 he signed a two-year contract with Gimnàstic de Tarragona, but he terminated that deal after a single season. He then joined Portuguese side CD Feirense on a free transfer with a contract running to June 2027, taking him from Spain's Primera Federación into Liga Portugal 2.
Leal, right-footed, has yet to add a major title or individual honour to his record, and has not represented Spain at any level.
